ABOUT DANIEL

Daniel is a true horseman. The horse comes first in all he does. His incredible patience with both horses and students makes them feel capable and confident. Because he has ridden and competed many different horses, he has developed the feel and adjustability to develop horses that are not only willing, but also proficient in their jobs.

After Daniel left his beloved Argentina to seek a better education, he worked for five show seasons training and competing in Southern California for Lynn & Guillermo Obligado. Then, from April 2010 to December 2011 he worked as show-rider and instructor in Germany for the Top Training and Sales Stable of Holger Hetzel.  There he competed through Grand Prix level in many national and international shows.  While competing in Germany he achieved more than 130 placings in classes up to 1,45 m. His over 30 winnings include: 1st place Grosse Preis von Goch', 1st place Grosse Preis von Kranenburg', 1st place Grosse Preis von Kaarst', 1st place S* Sevelen', 1st place Qualification Bundeschampionate Langenfeld', 2nd place Qualification Bundeschampionate Sevelen', 4th place CSI* Gera', 1st place 5 Years Old Final CSI* Gera'.

When Daniel returned to the USA and founded Ighani Sporthorses, he purchased the stallion Nimbus from Carbondale Farms. Together Daniel took Nimbus up the levels to compete in the NorCal Grand Prix’s up to 1.50. He has shown numerous horses for Ighani Sporthorses and for other professionals who seek his expertise. When Daniel entered his first ever equitation class as a rider, he won the $10,000 Equitation Championship in 2014 at Sonoma Horse Park. He has since trained other young riders in both their jumper and equitation goals. He has developed some of his riders up to the Grand Prix level and Young Rider Competitions.

With his temperament and his experience, Daniel is the right person to not only transfer all his knowledge but, also to develop the strongest rider/horse relationships. Daniel’s students have already reached top placings in jumping and equitation classes in California and the East Coast.

“Daniel and Susan offer a great program for both horse and rider. The combined disciplines support each other greatly. Knowing them both personally, they are great to their horses and to their people...what more could anybody want!”
— Lane Clarke, Top Grand Prix Jumper, AUS
